Chapter 165. It's Gone

Maddie stood in the dungeon area, her heart pounding in her chest and her nerves going crazy as she continued to stare at where she had hidden the gun. “I swear, that was where I put it.” 

Jacob breathed out a sigh, he needed to stay calm so he would be able to keep the omega calm. “Are you sure? Would you like us to look around? Maybe you placed it somewhere else in here.” 

Maddie felt tears fill her eyes, she should have known. She should have known that life would have found a way to make her pay for what she had done. A knot formed in her throat and she was trying her best not to cry. 

“Jacob, I said I put it there, that was where I put the gun,” She said in a defeated tone as a stubborn tear escaped her eye. “But you’re right.” She breathed out a sigh. “Maybe I put it somewhere in here.” 

“Yeah…yeah, right,” Jacob replied under his breath as he started to search the place, looking anywhere and everywhere for where the gun may have been.
