Chapter 169. Out of the Coma

Maddie breathed out a sharp breath as her heart dropped to the pit of her stomach, but she had to play it cool. She had to pretend that this was good news for her and that she was happy. But the truth was that this was far from good news for her. 

This scared her to the core. This, along with the gun being missing was enough to give her a heart or anxiety attack. 

If Elder Roy was awake from his coma so soon, that meant that the little life that she was building for herself was about to crumble. “And um…will he be able to remember the events of the night he was shot?” Maddie could not help but ask. She wanted to know. 

The doctor locked eyes with her before replying, “Well…that night was very traumatic for the elder so his brain might repressed it for a while. But we would not be able to tell, it would all depend on him. He might not remember anything for a few hours and have it all coming back or could not remember anything ever again.”

Maddie nodded
