Chapter 174. Driving

Nate chuckled, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “It’s not a bad idea. Trust me, you will be great.” 

Maddie took a deep breath, gripping the steering wheel tighter. She adjusted the mirrors as she had seen others do, trying to recall the brief instructions Jacob had given her that one terrifying night. “Okay, what’s next?” 

Nate was patient with her, he did not care whether they had to be at the therapist in less than an hour. He cared about her, he cared about making her smile and forget whatever kept stealing away her joy. 

“First you put your foot on the brake pedal. Then shift the gear into drive.” His voice was calm and supportive. This was a very expensive car and honestly, it was one of his favorite. He did not want a single scratch on it but he was willing to take the risk for the omega. 

Maddie followed his instructions, her heart racing. She felt a mixture of fear and excitement as the car began to move slowly. “Like this?”
