Chapter 178. Rain

Maddie kept staring at the phone as the sound of the shower kept echoing in the background. She tried to call call out to Nate again but she realized that he was never going to hear her until he was done. 

It was now rinsing heavily, making it harder for her voice to be heard by him, so she picked up the phone and answered, wondering why the police were even called. 

“Alpha Nate?” The chief spoke. “I’m sorry to be calling at a time like this but I just wanted to inform you that it would be wonderful if you and Luna Maddie could drop by at the hospital before noon.”

Maddie cleared her throat. “I’m sorry but Nate is in the shower, it’s Maddie.” 

“Oh, Luna Maddie, how is your night?” The officer’s tone got lighter. 

“It’s fine, and yours?” She answered instinctively, but she was more concerned with why they had to go to the hospital tomorrow before noon.
