Chapter 212. The Cold Shoulder

Meanwhile, Maddie was in the car with Jacob, being taken back to the park. That was where she had insisted that the guy should drop her off. She had to keep the act that she had gone for a run. 

When they reached the park, she reached for the door and opened it, but before she could step out, she looked back at Jacob and flashed him a warm smile. He smiled back and her heart fluttered. 

Then she finally got out of the car and stood there until it was gone. Sighing, she made sure that her hair was still in a ponytail before she started jogging in the direction of the villa. Her plans were to get home, shower, and then head to the hospital so she could have a talk with Elder Roy. 

When she reached home, she walked inside the villa, breathing deeply due to how she had just exerted herself, all of that making her lie seem more plausible, not knowing that the alpha was way ahead of her. 

When she reached the bedroom, she met Nate with his laptop on hi
