Chapter 214. Making Amends

Maddie had made her decision, she was not going to confess, no matter what. Confessing meant that she would be giving up, it meant that she would be accepting a fate of death. And she was in no way ready for that. 

Knowing now that she was the one that the prophecy was about, it scared her. Was there evil in her? Was she possessed by an evil that they did not know of? She had so many questions going at the speed of light in her mind. And she wanted answers, but she knew she was not going to get them. 

That was how things always were. 

But one thing she knew was that she was going to try, she was going to try her best, her hardest to stop the prophecy from coming to pass. Even if it was going to take her going to the very ends of the earth, she would do that to stop it. 

“Okay,” She said in a breathy tone. “Um…” She stood to her feet. “Let me help you get your food and a few other things.”
