Chapter 28. A Makeover

Maddie mentally smacked herself in the head. She had forgotten that she had promised to go somewhere with Jacob.

“I’m so sorry, I kind of forgot,” She confessed, swaying very gently as she stood. 

“It’s okay, Maddie. I’m now reminding you, aren’t I?” He chuckled. “So you’re still down?”

Maddie did not want to let Jacob down and mainly did not want to put all her eggs in one basket. The possibility of her being with Nate was very slim.

The guy was an Alpha, and almost everyone would expect him to mark someone powerful as his mate, not her. 

If they did end up together, which she had her doubts about because there are better-looking and classy girls out there, she knew that it wouldn’t be easy.

But with Jacob, he was not someone of power. He had a comfortable life and his parents already liked her. And to top it off, he was behaving nicely now; more like a gentleman.
