Chapter 34. Microagression

“Vanessa,” Nate said in a warning tone. “Behave, she’s a friend.”

Vanessa scrunched his mouth and shook her head in disapproval. “A friend who is an omega. Is she here to work?”

“Vanessa!” Nate scolded her. “Stop being rude.” He glared at her.

As for Maddie, she did not think too deeply about the sly insults, in fact, she was used to comments like that. 

What she was intrigued by was who was this Vanessa, but from the way things were going, she had a feeling that she would get to know that pretty soon.

“I’m just telling the truth, you know omegas are not allowed in here unless they’re working.” Vanessa shrugged. “She better just be a friend too, Nate.” She narrowed her eyes at him before looking over at Maddie with a look of disgust.

“Let’s go,” The Alpha ignored the last comment, leading Maddie away from his best friend and down the hall.
