Chapter 70. Going to See the Alpha

The town buzzed with excitement as preparations for the Royal Ball were in full swing. Everyone was talking about it. Banners were hung, streets were cleaned, and people were bustling about, getting ready for the grand event. 

It was to start by six in the evening. Not everyone in the pack would be able to enter the grand building but those who would not be able to do that would have the opportunity to watch it on TV. So in a way, everyone was going to be involved one way or the other. 

Maddie tried to push her encounter with Damien to the back of her mind as she cleaned her room. She needed to talk to Nate before the event, since what happened at the cafe with him and Jacob, she had not spoken with him. 

She had tried to call him, of course, but that didn’t work because he did not pick up his phone and she eventually ended up being blocked because she had been calling way too much. She just wanted to talk to him, to apologize.
