Chapter 99. Club Empire

Maddie saw the guy coming towards her and her mind was screaming for her to run but she was still cemented to the floor by the ssame mind that was sounding all the alarm bells in her head. 

Tears blurred her vision for a few seconds and her heart thundered in her chest so hard that she felt like it was going to explode. 

“Maddie, can I talk to you?” The guy said when he had closed the distance between them. 

It was like his voice pulled her out of her trance, she jumped back and held her arms up in defense. “Please…don’t hurt me,” She sobbed, tears rolling down her face freely. The good thing about her makeup was that it was waterproof. 

“I…” The guy seemed so affected by the way she had responded. “Oh, my gosh, Maddie, I have no intention of hurting you. I…I just wanted to apologize; to apologize for what I did to you,” He said, his voice breaking as a pained expression crossed his face.
