As Maddie climbed the stairs and passed her floor, her heart did a small flutter, and not in a good way. She continued climbing until she reached the floor she now had a room on. 

A guard stood there and stopped her. “What’s your business up here? Were you called for a meeting?” 

Maddie shook her head. “My room was changed to this floor,” She replied. “I was told to come to this floor.” She felt like she was just repeating herself, and that was because she was nervous. 

“Oh,” The guard dragged the word. “Let me guess, Maddie Bennett?”

“Your room is down the hall, the last door on the left,” He informed her, and he flashed him a polite smile as a way of appreciation before walking past him.
