Dorian’s POV

“I cannot take it anymore,” she cried, I stared at her in shock, not sure what to do. I am usually awkward around people crying, it makes me fold up, it makes me freeze, not sure why. I stood next to her there in the corridor, unsure of what to do, unsure of whether to bolt or pull her close. The knot in my throat, the resolved trauma from my childhood that laid at the pit of my stomach yelled at me to run away as fast as I can, to avoid any potential contact with her, to exist stage left and never have to deal with the uneven murky ground that is emotion.

For the first time in aong time, I ignored this voice, I swallowed the uncomfortable knot in my throat, I bit down the knot that had settled in the pit of my stomach.

“Come ‘ere” my face widened into a smile that I hoped with hide my discomfort. I hope the levity that was aced into my tone and words would cloak my awkwardness and would make me seem like every other normal person who doesn’t ge
