Chapter 49

Max’s POV

Dorian’s eyes widened in shock when Justin walked in and the silver gate closed behind him, trapping him there alone with the blood-thirsty beast without any chance of escaping.

There is no escape from the dungeon, the only exit is through the silver gate which typically remains closed until the fight is complete, until someone lays responsive on the ground, and today like every other day, my bet is on the beast. There is no way that Justin is getting out of this alive but yet again that is not the point. Him being in there is nothing but comic relief, or should I say the opposite of a comic relief? A tension exacerbator perhaps? I needed something to heighten Dorian’s tension, something that would make him more compliant, more willing to do what I need him to do. Immediately I found out about Justin, I knew that he would grant me access to everything I need from Dorian. Dorian has a lot to lose thanks to the ridiculous love he feels for Justin.
