Chapter 82

Rhea’s POV

The chamber was quiet, my breathing the only thing I could hear. The alpha had left a while ago and so now I was truly alone. The bare walls looked very much like the prison sentence it was. They restrained me from my very purpose - running.

Suddenly, I heard the clatter of movements outside, boots and voices I couldn’t understand. Something else was happening. Had Cassian woken up?

Of course, that resolution wouldn’t come easily. The door was pushed open and a tall, dark man walked into the room. His face was bare of any emotion, he was only here to do his job. Behind him, two other men walked into the room and that was when I noticed it - the chains.

They held it between them, large and of course the obvious space for my hands. I felt dread clutch my heart tightly, I couldn’t breathe freely for a moment.

“What is happening?” I managed to ask although the hard faces of the men didn’t look like they were going to answer me anytime soon
