Chapter 89

Author’s POV

Rhea hadn’t made any discovery to her disappointment. Everything had been stable that night. She had been taken back to her room later but she wasn’t kept there with the chains on. She couldn’t do anything other than wait.

Her heart raced with every minute that passed. Night had come, the sun had risen and nobody had been to see her. It was later that day that the door opened as a maid walked in. This time there wasn’t any food, just a drink.

As soon as she drank it, she felt the strength return to her body. She could finally move without all the ache in her body. The maid left almost immediately and outside Rhea could see nothing had changed. There wasn’t a rebellion, at least not yet.

She ached to do something but she was there again all day and then the sun fell. Before the door opened she could sense it - nothing had changed. Tonight she was going to be sacrificed. She knew it.
