Lucian’s POV

A few days had passed - a few days too many if you asked me and nothing had happened. Lyra hadn’t come back but her message had been clear to both Nerena and I. And Rhea - my Rhea, I hadn’t saved her yet from my father’s hands.

How I dreaded the thought of it. What would he do to her? If he was so desperate for Cassian, God only knew to what extent he would go so he could get him, he wouldn’t care about her life.

My father who had looked me in the eye and shot me to kill me, of course he wouldn’t care. My heart pounded for Rhea, I needed to find her - had to save her. But Nerena, she hadn’t budged entirely.

Her goals were still her goals. She wouldn’t help me unless I pledged myself and Lucian never pledged himself to anyone. The thought of finding Shiraya came to me but I couldn’t even feel her from here. Did she know I was here? Could she save me?
