But even as my mind searched for her, I knew one truth - I had to get out of here to save her. And I couldn’t do it alone. How long had I tried alone? Father or rather, Alpha Caden has outsmarted me each time. I needed her.

That night as the rogues around us slept, I walked to the tent that I knew was her. The warmness didn’t surprise too much even when it should have. The forest was never warm, it was a cold place for cold people.

I stopped in front of her tent, catching my breath and steadying myself so that the ache that plagued me could stop. Even though my treatment hadn’t stopped, the pain had continued.
