Author’s POV

Cassian walked towards his father’s office. It was almost unbelievable how well his father had planned all of it. So smoothly, so quickly without even waiting for any other order. He had found his way into the council’s heart. They all supported him.

He didn’t knock on the door when he reached, unable to hold it back. “How could you?” He shouted, slamming the door closed and walking closer to his father. His father didn’t flinch or move, in fact his expression was very different.

He had a smirk on his face. He knew Cassian was his son but he hadn’t gotten all the smartness Lucian had possessed. Did he really think he could meet the council without his knowledge? He controlled all of it.

“What did you think? I don’t run this place by being complacent and anyway we both know that no major decisions can be carried out without the council’s approval” he finished although that wasn’t really the truth.
