Now that she was awake, it felt like something had gone wrong. Lucian didn’t expect it to feel like this - this strange energy. He could almost hear the words being shouted from the rooftops - “wrong”

It was there, just beyond, almost like you could feel it but never doing so. He had left the room early that morning after spending the whole day with her. She was stable, healing, slowly but it was happening. At least that was what the healers said.

Rhea sat up on the bed, ignoring the way her head pounded with a mighty headache. The heaviness that had sat in her chest had reduced just a little bit. She could breathe without it feeling too constricting.

She stared at the white walls in front of her, unable to say anything much. She wasn’t sure what was happening yet. Nothing had come back to her. Her mind had been blank and empty, void of any emotions and it seemed like she was trying to piece herself together again.
