Chapter 30. Shane
Noelle left early on Sunday morning so she could get home and help prepare for the family dinner she was dreading so terribly. Shane’s house instantly felt empty without her. Now he knew what the big deal was. Why people married and wanted kids. He couldn’t wait for her to take his last name. For her to carry his child. Jesus, he didn’t even sound like himself anymore.
Shane called Theo, who was going through his own difficult family stuff but got no answer. He wasn’t surprised, so he left a voicemail of encouragement and told Theo to get in touch if he needed to talk. After having survived such a horrendous accident, plenty of drama had followed with his wife which somehow overshadowed the amazing work he had put in coming back from his injuries. Shane would do everything in his power to help his friend, and Theo knew that, so he hoped he would reach out if he needed anything.
