Chapter 2

My body froze, and my eyes widened. "Who are you?" My voice trembled. Fear overtook me. He's an Alpha, his aura is so scary, and I'm breathless in his arms.

"I'm disappointed you forgot about me. We've met twice before, and from today we will always see each other, my baby." The dark blonde-haired Alpha released his hug from me, and his black eyes stared deep into mine.

"I'm Meddox of the Mountain Snow Pack," he said; his hands grasped my shoulders hard, forcing me to remain staring into his dark eyes.

"Why am I here?" I diverted my gaze from his, not wanting to plunge further into his dark eyes that night. Our distance is too close, and the air I could breathe is less. I couldn’t escape his grasp.

'They haven't changed at all. They were mean to you, Elettra. To make it simpler for them to take you, they blend sleeping tablets into your drink. I didn't expect them to be that cunning!' My wolf growled.

My wolf never liked my aunt and cousin. Anna always asked me to leave their house, but I ignored her advice since I was still in school and no restaurants or convenience shops were willing to recruit high school students.

'We should be suspicious of their sudden change of attitude! I'd love to turn back time if I could.' My wolf temper exploded. She was so sorry she didn't think Eliana and Winona's kindness was fake.

We were stuck in our hopes that they have changed.

"Am I the omega in your house, Alpha?" With fear, I looked into those black eyes.

His lips smiled crookedly, and I shuddered in horror. Other than my father and uncle, I never spoke or gazed at men. He was an Alpha, and all Alphas radiated disaster.

He caressed my cheek, and by reflex, my face avoided his big hands. The disappointment was clear in his eyes. "You must get used to the touch I give you, my baby."

His words and stares threatened my life.

"You don't work as an omega." He shook his head, and I frowned. "I will make you my mate. You have made me fall in love with you."

My lips couldn't open to let out a sound that had been caught in my throat. I was so shocked.

Alpha Meddox softly rubbed my hair twice, and the corners of his mouth lifted in a grin. "You are not my mate, but I will make you mine. You can't leave me."

He led me to the bed, and I sat on the edge of the bed. "It's late. Go to sleep, my baby." He kissed my cheek and the corners of my lips.

"Don't forget to dream of me like I always dream of you," he whispered. His hoarse voice made the hairs on my neck stand up. He left after turning off the bedside lamp.

I couldn’t believe it. I must be dreaming. This dream is very strange.

'Elettra. Wake up from your daydream!' My wolf voice echoes in my head. I blinked a few times and stared at the tightly closed door. 'We have to get out of this house. We have to find our mate.'

'We're not getting out of here, Anna. This house is, of course, heavily guarded by warriors.' I took a deep breath. I give up.

'Why do you always give up first? You never want to try and are always pessimistic.' My wolf was angry and refused to hear my answer.

She was right. I was pessimistic. I chose not to do anything because I did not want to be disappointed by my expectations.

I couldn’t remember where I first met Alpha Meddox and why did Alpha choose me from all the stunning and sexy women?

Winona was considerably more attractive; she was a model of a woman with a flawless face and body form. All the girls and I aspire to be like Winona. Every day, I saw Winona, and one of my greatest wishes is to have her perfect physical form.

Oh, I almost forgot. If Alpha Meddox likes Winona, he couldn’t have Winona because my cousin already has a boyfriend.

'I will never tire of saying I am not afraid of warriors.' My wolf forced me to switch bodies with her again. 'We can escape from this house. Trust me. We shouldn't be with that perverted Alpha.'

Every day, Anna always invited me to escape from Alpha Meddox. She said it would be better for us to die than to live with another man, but I was more afraid of death.

"Eat." Alpha Meddox pointed to the food available on the table. "Those are your favorite foods. Goose and beef steak."

I nodded and ate my breakfast. It smelled good, the meat was tender, and the spices permeated the flesh, but I didn't like it.

I didn’t know what kind of life I was currently living. I felt like a doll, moving and acting according to my owner's commands.

I had lost my identity.

My dream disappeared from my life overnight.

I couldn’t cry. My tears didn’t want to come out.

Then my wolf again said that we should run away and I should believe her.

"I love that dress." Alpha Meddox always looks at me with lust, but he hasn't done anything to me yet. So far, he's only kissed my cheeks and the corners of my lips.

"I'd rather you let your hair down." Alpha Meddox played with my hair. "You have a beautiful hair color." Many people have hair color like me; my hair color is not rare.

"Don't you want something? You can tell me whatever you want, and I will give it to you." Alpha Meddox hugged me from the side. We're on our way to the meeting room.

Alpha Meddox informed his whole pack staff that I was his and told them not to speak to or stare at me. He takes me with him everywhere he goes. We separated while sleeping.

"No, Alpha." I shook my head.

I lied. I wish to find my mate, knowing he will not grant my wish.

"I'm preparing for our wedding. We're getting married on the sacred mountain. Everyone knows the sacred mountain will grant our wish." Alpha Meddox looked me in the eye and pointed at my chest. "We will pray to the Moon Goddess over there to make us mate."

"Isn't that just a myth?" I didn't believe in the sacred mountain because I once prayed to the Moon Goddess for two consecutive days, hoping she would bring my parents back to life.

"Not a myth." Alpha Meddox shook his head. "Many lovers pray there to ask the Moon Goddess to make them mate." Confidence shone in his eyes.

Anna reprimanded me because I responded to Alpha Meddox's words as if I also wished to be his mate.

'Don't worry, Anna. My prayer is not the same as Alpha Meddox's. I'll ask the Moon Goddess if we meet our mate as soon as possible,' I said.

My wolf laughed. 'I'm surprised you can be sneaky.'

I've been with Alpha Meddox for one week, but I couldn’t like him. He was a kidnapper, and he forced me to be his.

"You should meet my best friend from childhood." Alpha Meddox tidied my dress and hair meticulously. He loves cleanliness and tidiness so much.

Alpha Meddox hugged me from the side, and we descended dozens of stairs and then walked toward the living room.

My eyes widened, and my heart beat faster. This fragrance, I never smelled it.

'Our mate, Elettra. It smells like our mate's body!' My wolf screamed until it made my head spin.

"Hey, how are you, dude?" Alpha Meddox greeted his best friend, sitting quietly on the couch. "We haven't seen each other in a long time. You're too busy fighting."

My body froze like wood, and I made eye contact with Alpha Meddox's best friend. I couldn’t be wrong. I know the amber-eyed Alpha.

'That's our mate, Elettra!' My wolf said happily. 'Trust me; we, wolves, can detect our mate's aura.'

'But Anna,' I said. 'He's Winona's boyfriend.'
