Chapter 54

I had remained in the healing room till I was fully recovered; Damien made sure of it. He was always visiting, and I worried he was slacking in his duties all because of me.
Finally, I was back in my room—our room. I didn't know how bad I had missed this place until now or how much it felt like home to me.
I was snapped out of my train of thought by Damien's entrance.
He came quite earlier than I expected.
"How are you feeling?" he asked, and for some reason, that question made me feel irritated. The whole pack was in danger, and Damien was slacking in his duties all because of me. Rather than being of help, I had become a luggage, and now he keeps worrying about my injuries, which are long gone.
"Who cares about the stupid injury?" I said silently.
His lips tightened at that. "Stop that. You know that I will always care, and I still worry that you need more care," he said, genuinely worried.
