Chapter 22

Sky’s POV

As I uncurled from the fetal position, I could feel the sweat on my forehead, so I grabbed the clean sheets to dab it away. The pain I am currently experiencing is so intense that it feels as though a multitude of tiny hammers have been used to pummel every muscle in my body. A small pounding in my head begins, and the knot tightens. I close my eyes as tightly as I can and take a deep breath. Once again, I am seized by the chill of the air, prompting me to take refuge under my soft and comforting blanket, my eyes fixed on the floor of my bedroom.

‘Sky? Are you there?’

‘I’m here.’ Blue whimpers a little.

‘What’s happening?’ I asked with concern.

‘You know.’

The cracking sound of my first bone breaking is overwhelming and I cannot help but nod my head, close my eyes, and curl back up in agony. I cry out in pain.

‘It’s starting.’

Everything hurt... The sweat from my forehead has flowed into my eyes, causing a stinging sensation
