Sky's POV

Megan's jaw drops, and she steps away from Kyle to look at me.

“So, leave him alone.” My voice was strong and powerful. I had to retract my claws and canines as I.settled after my outburst.

“What?” she breathed. “What do you mean, Kyle’s not your mate? Of course he is. He has to be. If Kyle isn't the one, then who is?”

“I don’t know, okay!? How does it concern you, in any case?” I can feel the tension building as I run my fingers through my hair, trying to calm down. I go to grab Kyle’s hand but he’s not there. I caught a glimpse of him as he pushed his way through the sea of people.
