Chapter 24

As soon as I wake up, I sit up straight in my bed and stretch my arms high above my head to start my day. This is the first time I have ever felt so well rested and truly like myself. I can't help but giggle with delight as a feeling of happiness and confidence washes over me, causing a smile to form on my face. I hear Owen approaching my door and I lay back down and pretend to sleep.

He enters the room after knocking softly and receiving no response. He sits on the side of my bed and I can feel his eyes on me. He seems unsure as he places a hand on my shoulder, shaking it off softly. “Sky.”
