Chapter 9
Ava jerked awake to the brutal throbbing in her head. She squinted at her surroundings with eyes half closed to the raging morning sunlight that was swimming its way into the extravagant black-furniture room. The bed she was lying on felt cozy and soft, she was even surprised to find it was softer than her own bed.
She robbed her throbbing forehead and felt a cold damp towel resting on it, had she burned all through the night? Her senses must have returned then because her brains suddenly snapped and she realized where she was, she was on Lucas’s bed. She could actually feel her eyes stretch beyond the limit of her skin and she threw a hand over her mouth to keep herself from screaming.
