Regret.
That was an understatement, if there was another word stronger than that then it was exactly what Lucas was feeling. He took slow steps into his room; it was almost unrecognizable. His bed covers had been replaced with the only colors he had seen Ava wear. His floor, his…everything, everything was pink.
“What is this?” he asked Ava who was lying down on the bed, her head on a pink teddy that was taller than she was. She was smiling on her phone, her legs crossed with the one on top swinging side to side.
“You’re back, Lucas,” she grinned up at him excitedly. “How do you like the new look?”
Lucas’s hands clenched into fists. She must have seen his anger as the grin vanished from her face. “You said I could do whatever I wanted,” she said in her own defense. “So, I changed the look of the room.”
