Chapter 6. Scared of the Tales?

"What?" Nancy stared with disbelief. This was too much for her to handle. It was difficult for her to believe in the existence of vampires.

She drew away from Dave, walking toward her couch, and swirled, speaking up once more. "Vampires are not real. They're just fiction from the movies." She demonstrated with her hands, trying to make a point. Even though she was trying to shake off this conversation and argue about the existence of vampires, there was a trace of fear in her voice and face. She looked scared.

During her college days, Nancy had seen a few vampire movies. She had stopped watching such movies because they gave her the creeps at night when she was alone in her dorm. One night, after watching a vampire movie, she felt so scared that she couldn't sleep alone in her dorm, and she invited her friend to spend the night with her. The night hadn't been calm for her as she had continued to have a series of nightmares.
