Chapter 7. Incredible Tales
Dave was already late. Before he could reach Nancy, she pulled out a knife, waving it threateningly at his face.
“Stay away from me!” she cried out once more.
“Come on, Nancy, put the knife away,” Dave implored as his eyes widened.
She glared at him. “So that you can drain my blood like you did with the janitor.”
“I am not a vampire,” he defended himself. “Plus, if I were a vampire, that knife wouldn’t harm me.”
Nancy’s face turned blank at his words. She never lowered the knife but kept it ready to drive it through Dave’s chest.
“Drop the knife; let’s talk.”
“Not going to happen!” she growled with hatred in her eyes.
Dave smirked slyly. “Very well then,” he said. “Perhaps I will do it myself.”
He stretched his hand toward Nancy, and the knife was quickly drawn to him like a magnet. Taking hold of the knife, he lowered it onto the cabinet and shook his head. “I am not here to harm you,” he said.
