Chapter 8. What Is Fun?

After getting ready and putting on a cute outfit, I walk downstairs. The smell of pancakes and syrup instantly hits me.

Chris and Kol are making pancakes, eggs, and sausage. Things with them have finally settled down, and I couldn't be happier.

As I walk into the kitchen, my dad looks straight at me. "Good morning, Via. Your tutor, Mr. Thorne, will be over later today for your first day of tutoring," he says with a serious look. I nod.

"Thanks for letting me know, Dad," I say, smiling as I sit down at the kitchen table.

"He's a good guy," Dad says, smiling slightly. I nod, and he continues, "Oh, and Alexander becoming a math teacher at Woodbridge was a surprise," he adds, shaking his head in disbelief.

"It was a surprise to me too," I say, pouring syrup on my pancakes and adding fruit. "He's a nice teacher," I say, stuffing a piece of pancake into my mouth.
