Chapter 18

We walked out of the ward, feeling frustrated and defeated. Mario was upset, and I could see the anger in his eyes.

"I can't believe this," he said, pacing back and forth. "We were so sure it was Nurse Agatha. But now it turns out it wasn't her at all. This is a disaster."

"What are we going to do now?" I asked, feeling helpless. "We don't have any leads, and we're back to square one."

Mario took a deep breath and pulled out his phone. "I'm going to call Lucien," he said. "Maybe he can help us figure out what's going on."

He dialed Lucien's number and put the phone to his ear. After a moment, he spoke. "Lucien, it's me. Listen, we were just at the hospital, and it turns out it wasn't Nurse Agatha after all. Can you be sure that it was her you spoke to?"

There was a pause, and then Lucien's voice came through the phone. "Yes, I'm sure it was her," he said. "But maybe she's not there anymore. I don't know what's going on, but I'll come meet you at the hospital a
