“Accident on Main and Pennsylvania Ave.,” the dispatcher’s voice crackled over the radio, and Dustin turned the ambulance towards Main Street. Gia reached up with a long, slender arm and used a short, pink-painted fingernail to flip the switch that turned on the flashing lights. Other cars began to give way, and soon they were speeding along, making good time to the accident they’d been called to.
For Gia, life as an EMT was perfect. She loved the rush of saving a life more than anything, and in fact, her addiction to the rush she received from her job had led her to create a life that revolved around work, leaving very little in the way of a private life.
Her burly, jolly partner, Dustin, was always teasing her for her lack of a love life, but the truth was, he was exactly the same.
