Chapter 4
She stopped in her tracks, just a few feet away from him.
He stood up, taking a step to close the distance between them, and held out his hand. “I’m David,” he said. “We didn’t have a chance to talk.”
“I’m Gia.” She took his hand. It was warm, surprisingly soft, but she could feel an intense strength lurking beneath the surface of the smooth skin.
That smell toyed with her again—the ocean. His intense blue eyes were hard to look at, especially with that spark that she couldn’t deny—desire. She lowered her eyes for a moment, focusing on his chest, the hard muscles against the white fabric.
“Gia…” His deep, strong voice caressed the name as he released her hand. “I meant what I said, you know. You did an amazing job. It’s incredible to watch you.”
“Thank you,” she said. “So did you. How do you know CPR?”
He smiled. “I require my employees to take the class, so our office is safe. And I never make my employees do anything that I can’t do
