Chapter 6

"Brett, right?" Warren asked.

"Future alpha of the Red River pack," he said with a bow. Sofia went to kick me under the table, but she kicked Scott instead, which made Scott wince. "I didn't get your names all."

Brett shook hands with each of us as Brett introduced us all. He sat down next to Sofia, across from me.

He asked me, "How do you like school so far?"

"So far, so good," I said, adding that I was nervous about training.

He asked, "Why?"

"I've never trained before," I said quietly, but of course werewolves can hear it.

Scott did a spit take when he sprayed Sprite on Sofia. I felt so bad about myself. I knew this was going to come up, but I didn't know what to say.

"Diana hasn't been given permission to train. Her parents said no because they wanted her to marry well. "Our Alpha listens to what they want," Simon said, so I didn't have to answer.
