Chapter 81. Uprising
“Hello, Lacey,” Detective Jones gasped, trying to catch his breath. “I’ve been shot.” He leaned back on the dumpster as he continued to catch his breath.
“What!” Lacey yelled on the other side of the phone. “How did this happen?” She was nervous.
Detective Jones had escaped the radical shootings by Kyle’s pack members. He narrowly escaped with a bullet injury.
“It’s a long story,” he squeezed out in his fading breath.
Kyle’s pack was onto him. There was no backup; he was just alone. His comrades had been shot dead. The first place he ran to was the hospital nearby, but before he could get to the entrance, he caught sight of armed men blocking the entrance. They were dressed like the men who had held him at gunpoint. There was certainty in his eyes that they belonged to Kyle and were out for him.
There was nothing much he could do. Kyle was really onto him, knowing he would be going to the hospital for treatment. He was two steps ahead of him.
