Chapter 86. A First Reunion

The enforcers lead me through the sprawling territory of the Windaster pack, my heart pounding with every step. The house we approach is grand but aged, its stone walls bearing the weight of not only time but of a pack that seems untouched by any kind of civilization outside of their own.

This is the home of the Windaster pack’s alpha—my grandfather. A man I’ve never met and who probably doesn’t even know I exist. And if he does, most likely thinks I perished along with his daughter and wife.

What other reason would we have for not coming back to Windaster to visit?

My grandmother never kept any of it a secret from me that she was mated to Windaster’s alpha when I asked her about it. She’d explained how much of a main driving force it had been behind my parent’s mating in the first place.

Though, it always did strike me as odd how she never seemed to keep in contact with her own family.

Maybe Cyrus had prevented her from doing so.
