The second we’re locked behind the spare bedroom door, I pull her into me, wrapping my arms around her and holding her as tightly as I can without crushing her.
Her scent washes over me, a grounding force that I bury my face into, breathing her in deeply.
Sending Koen after her had been a mistake—I regretted letting Iris send him instead of me going after my mate the moment he disappeared into the treeline.
