I hate waiting.
Pacing the damn borders of Windaster like a restless dog, I can feel the enforcers stationed nearby throwing me side glances. Their postures are stiff, tense, like they’re expecting me to snap at any moment.
Maybe I will. I haven’t decided yet.
Ainsley’s in there, somewhere deep in this unfamiliar pack’s territory and I have no idea what’s happening. I don’t like not knowing. Not when it comes to my mate. Even if our bond is calm and there are no telltale signs of her stressing out of being scared, I still don’t like being on the outside looking in.
She’s strong—I know that—but she’s also walking into something completely unknown, going to be exploring another part of her that she had no interest in up until this moment that could possibly change everything for her.
