Chapter 22. Scarred Heart

“Adam?” Mariah says softly and all the darkness in Adam’s life vanished in that moment. He felt alive.

Adam’s eyes widen and he looks at Mariah in disbelief. This is the very first time he heard Mariah say his name. It’s not that Adam hasn’t thought of Mariah calling his name out loud, he has, about a million times, but he didn’t expect his heart would go crazy like this.

“Hmm?” He wants to hear it again, he wants Mariah to say his name again and again.
