Ryan leaned in slightly, “Tell me you really didn’t force a drunk girl home with you.” The playfulness in her voice was gone and it sounded like an interrogation.
Cain met her eyes. “I didn’t,” Cain answered simply, thinking it’d end with that but she seemed dissatisfied.
“Explain,” she demanded.
Cain sighed, “She works for me. I noticed she was drunk and staggering aimlessly so I helped.”
Ryan tilted her head and studied him closely, her eyes sharp now, searching for something. “And the man who reported you?” She asked. “Why would he lie?”
Cain held her stare for a second, then spoke evenly. “You don’t trust me,” he stated, voice steady, showing it wasn’t a question.
Ryan let out a short snicker. “No, I don’t The fact that I want to fuck you doesn’t mean I automatically trust you.”
