Chapter 72
Cain didn’t respond. He didn’t even look at him. Vic watched him for a second, thinking he’d say something but he didn’t, so he continued anyway.
“We’ve been playing this straight so far,” he went on. “Money in, money out, no complications. But now?” He flicked ash into the tray beside him. “Now we’ve got leverage sitting right in front of us.”
Jay inhaled slightly, his eyes flicking toward Cain before settling back on Vic. He now knew what the meeting was for.
Vic leaned back a little, studying both of them. “Razor Wolves already saw this opportunity. You heard what that idiot said before he died. They were going to use her. Either to impress Parley or to threaten him.”
He paused just long enough for that to sink in. “If we don’t use this opportunity in our hands,” Vic added, quieter now, “Someone else will.”
Cain let out a slow breath through his nose before finally saying something. “We’re not using her.”
