Chapter 13

Lizzy’s POV

My eyes filled with tears as I ran from the vampire’s house. As I looked back at the house, I felt sadness surrounding me. Why was I even crying? At least he has a wife.

I looked at the house with sadness filling my heart. Despite not knowing why I was unhappy, I just felt that way. After seeing him standing in front of me, I turned around to leave once and for all.

“I thought you were betrothed. What do you want? Wouldn’t it be better if you went back to your stupid love?” My voice became louder, and tears began to flow.

He moved closer to me as I stepped back. I didn’t want him to touch me. I didn’t want to feel his touch and lose control of myself.

I didn’t notice what had gotten into me, and I slapped him. After realizing what I’d done, I moved back, scared. Would he kill me?

When I felt my body getting cold all of a sudden, I thought maybe that would be the end of my life. However, I was surprised by what he did.
