“You can’t let her stay with you!” Ashley said, after pulling me outside.
“She’s my sister, what am I supposed to do? Let her cry and be outside and alone?” I asked.
“Well… you can leave her here. I mean, we still have my place. She can stay here and fend for herself, I mean she did that to you!” she said, almost furious.
“I know… but one of us has to be the older one.”
“The older one? Why didn’t she act like the younger one and stay away from Declan?” she asked. “I know she’s your sister, but I’m telling you, she’s up to no good. I can tell from her fake tears,” she said, folding her arms.
“Can’t you at least see the good in people?” I asked.
“I do see the good in people—the people who are actually good. And you know very well my instincts are never wrong,” she said, raising a brow.
