“You dare accuse Lord Ivanov of such a crime?” the red-haired male vampire growled. He looked so angry that it was as though he were about to bare his fangs. “When he was the one who gave us more clues to the case than your own human police department?!”
“Raphael,” Eron said calmly. “Don’t let her provoke you.”
Before Melissa could retort, a loud voice suddenly stopped her in her tracks.
“It’s not good to jump to conclusions like that, Miss Lincoln!” one of the Human Council members, a woman with short black hair and green eyes, spoke up. She appeared to be in her mid-thirties. “If you’re going to proclaim such a thing, you need evidence to back up your words! Don’t get carried away. Whether we like it or not, we humans have to work together with the supernaturals in this matter!”
