“I’ve given you too much leeway for too long, Melissa,” Audrey said coldly, turning Melissa’s words back on her. “This is a Council meeting to discuss an entirely different issue. Let’s not lose sight of the matter at hand. This is not about the peace treaty. Rather, we are here to discuss the unique situation of Mikhail Ivanov and Cassandra Lenoir.”
Elias watched boredly as Audrey took her seat at the head of the table next to him, her posture straight and firm as always. She had always been like that, so stiff and conforming to the rules no matter what.
