Chapter 26. Visitors from Clawride Pack

I rammed Mars into the wall with my shoulder, taking him by surprise. He grunted against my weight, shoving at any part of my body his hands could touch. I was untouchable, strengthened by my anger towards him.

"She is not a common servant! She has a name. It's...it's..."

Mars stopped fighting me and went still, staring me down though I was taller. Since he was no longer fighting me, it was ridiculous to keep him shoved against the wall. His legs dangled in the air and I let go of him abruptly. He dropped to the ground like a heap of leaves, swearing at me. I would have seriously hurt him and for a girl whose name I didn't even know.

He knew me well enough to know that I never apologized so he put himself in order and sat down. The atmosphere was so awkward and my brain went numb. Their idea to start the search from within the palace was not a bad one truthfully but I liked my orders to be followed to the letter, sensible or not.
