The meeting with the Clawride Pack Beta was relatively successful. The man, Eric was used to his childish Alpha and had not contested any of the accusations I had laid against Alpha Wren. He had apologized demurely and brought up the issue of an alliance.
"The Alpha King has not come to a conclusion on that matter. We will send an emissary to you with a message as soon as he has made his decision. I wish you a safe journey back to your pack."
Eric was not satisfied with my answer but accepted my explanations and took his people with him. I was accustomed to standing for the Alpha and our relationship was still fragile. He had not verbally forgiven me and had ignored my presence. He needed me but was too proud to admit it.
