Chapter 31. A Job Offer

My eyes blinked open all of a sudden. One moment, I was falling down the bottomless well that was my coma and in the next minute, I was wide awake. Someone was sitting in the room with me and whomever it was, the person was as silent as a mouse.

"Fitzwilliam darling, could you please excuse us?" the stranger politely asked the doctor who was somewhere in the room too. He stopped shuffling around and came into my view.

"I will be outside if you need anything, Venus. All you have to do is press the distress button attached to the headboard of your bed. Try not to move around too much."
