Ivy’s POV

Nathaniel was obviously tired after his day. He tried to help me unpack to an extent since I didn’t want anyone else touching my stuff or coming into our room. I let him go to sleep, and then I did the rest of the unpacking myself.

The drive to the house had been nothing short of an interrogation. Nathan kept asking me about the details of my sudden disappearance. At a point, I had had to feign tears and sadness at the cooked-up story that I came up with, and he bought it.

He consoled me and told me how much he had missed me and how sorry he was that he hadn’t tried to look for me. He said he thought I wanted to leave, especially seeing as we were having so many issues prior to my disappearance.
