Chapter 13
When my eyes fluttered open, it was met with a harsh sunlight that streamed through the window. I groaned and spotted Whitney napping on the sofa — the one I had seen her sit on yesterday.
I glanced around and saw a small travelling bag that I hoped would contain the necessary things I would be needing. I hoisted myself to check and it contained my toothbrush, underwear and some other clothing. I threaded towards the bathroom to freshen up and while at it, I tried my best not to disturb her as she slept peacefully. I wondered how long she stayed awake while I slept. As I took my bath, memories of yesterday when the doctor had confirmed my pregnancy started to flood through my mind. It caused my heart to pick up its irregular pace. At that point, I think it was safe to say that my heart was betraying. I thought we had agreed to not think of it anymore?
